Bio

Julia Lee Dean holds a BA in English and Italian Literature (University of Warwick) and an MA in the History of Medicine & Science (Birkbeck College, University of London), a TUC diploma in Employment Law and an NCTJ certificate in Journalism.
While at Warwick she enrolled on David Morley’s Composition and Creative Writing course, focussing on poetry and in 2003 was a member of the Young Writers' Programme at the Royal Court Theatre.
From 2002 to 2014 she worked full time as a Complaints Executive at the Advertising Standards Authority in London. During this time she completed her MA, she trained as an actress at Rose Bruford and spent six months as a stand-up comic. She then set up her own theatre company, Wired to the Moon Productions, and wrote and produced three plays for the Camden and Belfast Fringe Festivals.
She also worked as a part-time home tutor in English and History (2005 – 2014) before moving to Germany where she now lives and works as a writer, editor and English teacher.
