Bio

Dr. David Lee Fish, Ph.D., is a veteran educator and professional musician who has served on the faculty at Catawba College in North Carolina for the past fifteen years, for seven as the PJ Leonard Chair of the Music Department. He is a co-founder of the Association for Popular Music Education and is recognized as a leading authority on managing stage fright. At Catawba, Dr. Fish directs a thriving program of study in popular music that attracts talented performers from across the country. His students have competed on series like America's Got Talent and American Idol, won national songwriting contests, and enjoyed chart-topping success with their music. Such accomplishments have led the country's leading Music Education magazine to honor Catawba as a Best Music School for eight years running. As a saxophonist, Dr. Fish has shared the stage with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Cher, and the Temptations.
