I was born in and near Liverpool England. I came to Canada as a small child with my parents and younger sister. I am a Law Clerk by profession.

I am married to my husband Dave, have two children David (32) and Abigail (17). I have two male guinea pigs named Reese and Marble. I decided as my mother is getting older to tell the world about the abuse she suffered at school in England because she came from a poor family.

Do you want to learn how to build a shelter in the woods, build a fire, shoot a gun, and fly in a glider plane? Get paid to attend summer training? If you have said yes to any or all of these, find out how Gabby did it. The story is from her joining cadets, up to the time she ages out.

Rose’s Tale: The Strap, the Wooden Compass – The Endless Abuse at School

I am dedicating this story to my mum, Rose. You will read about how she grew up in post-war England, with only a single mum left to raise her and her seven siblings after her father died.

She received constant abuse from her teachers at school, which is not tolerated in today’s society. I want to bring to light this abuse, so others can know about it. This was an era when there was no child protection. The treatment to Rose was not only endured by her, but also many other children suffered the same abuse.
