BioDavid Hailwood used to write whilst hanging upside-down by his legs from a tree. Now he's an adult he's apparently not allowed to do that sort of thing any more, so instead he sits at home in his office, cackling manically at his computer (occasionally he remembers to switch it on).
With over 20 years experience of working in the UK comics market, his brain-matter has leaked onto the pages of numerous comic anthologies, including Egmont's Toxic, Strip magazine, Futurequake, and 100% Biodegradable (which he also edits). He's had comedy material broadcast on ITV and E4, been shortlisted for several BBC sitcom competitions, and his book of Alternative Facts (co-written with F.J. Riley) has had over a quarter of a million downloads.
His debut children's novel 'The Last Of The Navel Navigators' was awarded a Distinction as part of his Creative Writing MA at the University of Chichester.

Death Duty - Preview
In a war-torn future, crime and disloyalty to the Terran Empire are punished with conscription into mercenary law enforcement squads: soldiers consigned to do or die in order to prove their commitment to the common good.
Dissidents are put on the infamous List – tracked down by these 'Death Duty' squads and terminated for their rebellion with extreme prejudice.
Described by some as ruthless assassins working with the worst of intentions, Dutymen see themselves as being paid to kill to keep the Empire safe. For most of them, who they kill doesn’t matter – until one of their number, Travis Wilson, begins to question the missions they’re assigned and goes AWOL...a wanted man.
Script: John Freeman (Dr Who, Judge Dredd) & David Hailwood. Art: Brett Burbridge. Letters: Ken Reynolds.
