At 19, Skyla is acting as a carer for her mother, when a knock on the door introduces her to a new world. One of magic and mythical creatures, but one that also happens to be on the brink of war. Skyla learns she must cross worlds, or her mother will die. But things become more complicated, when on her journey she discovers a deadly secret, and visions of a tortured man invade her thoughts.
