Bio

Joynell Schultz was raised at a zoo (yeah, bring on the jokes) which gave her a love of animals. She spends her days working as a veterinary pharmacist and spends her nights (cough, cough—very early mornings) creating imaginary worlds writing speculative fiction. When she’s not trying to put food on the table (takeout, of course) for her husband and two children (and keeping it away from her sneaky Great Dane), she spends her time reading, writing, enjoying the outdoors, and planning her next vacation.

Hey, this is brilliant! So many want to see how the girls stand by their heroes--and how the heroes stand by their girls. Schultz is sure to wow and woo readers from page 1!

I found the book a delightful read. Who could have thought that bringing angels and vampires together could actually work – but it does, and beautifully.

Fin is a vampire. There is something different, something special about him. Everyone agrees with that, but what is it that makes him special, no one knows. Ava considers herself the unluckiest of all angels—she has no wings. Hundred years under her belt and her miracles continue to evade her. Two most unlikely creatures—natural enemies—an adventure waiting to happen. Will they survive the trouble brewing? Can they stick together to solve the greatest mystery in all times?

The concept is new and fresh and one has to admit—Joynell sure knows how to tell a story.

The story begins with a tussle and the action quickly accelerates, the pace maintained throughout the book. You see two sides of the coin—the predator and the prey. Events and characters, both developing in front of your eyes. Things are happening fast. Will it all resolve in time or will things take a turn for the worst?

I liked the fact that Joynell takes well-known lore about vampires and angels and twists it and spices it up. So you go into it the story knowing some facts and when it turns a different direction you are pleasantly surprised. Would recommend it to those looking for a story away from the regular vampire action/romance. Worth a read.

A different approach on witch stories. Apparently, marriage is hard even for them.
